St. Stephen’s is a voluntary aided, Roman Catholic Primary School, providing education for children between the ages of 3 to 11. The principles of the Catholic faith are paramount and the whole atmosphere of the school promotes this. There are presently 406 children on roll, 60 part time nursery children.
- We are a large two form entry catholic school in Droylsden with 480 happy, fantastic children.
- We have award winning school grounds that include our own allotments , chickens, ducks and we have our own outdoor gym.
- We are lucky to have our church on our doorstep and we have regular class and school masses.
- We were judged to be a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted in 2014 and were judged by Salford Diocese to be a ‘Good school with Outstanding features’.
Tameside Local Education Authority maintains the school.
The school operates an “open door policy”, and parents are welcome into school at any time. If a problem or query should arise concerning your child, please come and consult Mr Marley or a member of the teaching staff. Please be assured that nothing is too trivial if it affects your child’s welfare and education. The staff and Mr Marley are only too pleased to meet you at a mutually convenient time.
